Am I one of the 10 most creative people in the Canadian Marketing industry? The suggestion is as flattering as it is unlikely. As we delve into the possible answers to this question, I will first address those of you who already know what I’m talking about. I’ll get to the rest of you shortly.
If you’ve come here from creativefaceoff.ca, welcome! Do make yourselves at home.
If you’d like to listen to some music, please avail yourself of the media player. If you’d like some background info on the tunes and access to the complete selection, just hit the MP3s category in the left hand column. If bon mots are more your style, you may be interested in the humour category. For musings on industry matters such as creative strategy and the like, click on advertising. If you’re not particular, of course, you may already be dead set on scrolling through in reverse chronological order, as is the custom.
If you don’t know what I’m talking about, however, you are probably not aware that as of this writing I have been selected as one of the 10 finalists in the Great Canadian Creative Face-off – a contest designed to track down and reward the most creative person in the business, as chosen by readers of Marketing Magazine and the online community at large. And that means that you can participate! Head on over to creativefaceoff.ca and have a browse through the contestants. There’s a whole pile of interesting folks there. Then vote for your favourites, and we’ll all see who makes it to the next round as the finalists are whittled down to 5, then 3, and then the single! most! creative! person! in the Canadian marketing industry!
You’ll find a video created by each contestant, a response to the question “What inspires you and why?” to help you choose. You can watch my submission, complete with annotations, below (or click through to the HD version on YouTube). Don’t forget to vote though!
